John Dudgeon
Program Director, National Transport Secretariat
Brisbane, Qld, Australia

John has enjoyed a varied career working as a consultant and in all three spheres of government. His professional training was in transport planning and traffic from an engineering perspective.
His initial employment in consultancy, with the Metropolitan Transit Authority and Brisbane Transport developed an interest in transport and land use planning, the bus and ferry business and operations, and project formulation and management. During this time Brisbane's bus and ferry services expanded, a network of bus lanes was delivered and the Queen Street Bus Station was opened.
A decade managing transport and traffic in Brisbane City Council and Queensland Main Roads broadened John's interests in program formulation and evaluation, policy and planning.
John has recently been seconded to the National Transport Secretariat as the Program Director.
He has had a career long association in professional activities and has authored many papers. John is committed to being a program manager in the partnership between Queensland Main Roads, Queensland Rail, Queensland Transport, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Queensland.
