• • Brief Biography ::

Barry Gyte commenced with Queensland Main Roads Department in 1983 as a labourer. He worked through the ranks in construction and road design while gaining qualifications in Civil Engineering and Town Planning. In 1991 he joined Brisbane City Council as a Town Planner and from 1992 to 1994 he worked in Human Services planning with the Commonwealth Government. In 1995 he joined Queensland Transport where he managed the final delivery of the Integrated Regional Transport Plan for South East Queensland and worked as Project Manager (Planning and Policy) on the South East Busway. Barry is now the Director of the planning consultancy, GCI Pty Ltd, and is married with four children. His hobbies include playing the guitar and the Gyte family tree.
