Bernie Carolan has had a career of more than 25 years in passenger transport. His experience has seen involvement in each of the bus, train and tram modes and has included periods in government regulatory bodies, government-owned operating businesses, as a consultant with large firms, as a self-employed contractor/consultant and now with a private operator of train, tram and bus services. Bernie is married, lives in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and has three children, aged 15, 13 and 11. He was involved with the National Express Group throughout the year-long phase of bidding for the train and tram franchises in Victoria.
