Road Pricing is one of the measures which LTA uses to manage the demand for road use, especially in the more congested areas. With ERP, road pricing charges are deducted from a stored-value SMART card which the motorist inserts into an electronic device known as the In-Vehicle Unit (IU). Each time the motorist travels under an ERP gantry, appropriate charges are deducted from the SMART card.
